Set up your group for freeTír na nÓg, published by Grand Gamers Guild, casts 1 to 5 players as bards journeying to the Irish otherworld, the timeless land beyond the western sea, collecting memories of monsters and heroes to weave into the most memorable saga. Under the myth it is a clever mix of card drafting, worker placement and tableau building: you place your bards on a grid to claim cards, then arrange them into rows that score your legend. Games run about 30 to 45 minutes.
It has been warmly received since release for its striking artwork and the knot it ties between where you place a bard and what you can take. Reviewer Mr Boardgames scored it 7.7 out of 10, singling out its "original draft and placement." There is also a solo mode pitting you against Balor, the one-eyed giant of Irish legend, running his own rival storytellers.
