The YouTube channel Tabletop Titans has finally made the leap from reviewing other people's games to making its own. Wyldwood, a two or four-player fantasy skirmish game with 60mm display-scale miniatures, is heading to Kickstarter in August and is already being tipped as one of the more distinctive campaigns of the back half of 2026.

Set up your group for freeDesigned by Brian Pullen with miniatures produced by Unicool, Wyldwood drops the dice entirely. Each player fields a team of five fantasy champions drawn from one of five factions: the elven Leafsong Nomads, dwarven Urscar Kindred, fire-wielding Emberhold Ascended, slow-moving undead Witherwood Legion, and orcish Nightwood Covenant. Players build a 30-card deck of attacks, reactions, and magical combos, then hunt each other across a stone-age forest while collecting spirit figures called Woodwisps to buff their champions.
The "display scale" framing is the hook. Pullen has said he loved big display miniatures but never got around to painting the ones he owned, because game-legal minis always jumped the queue. Unicool's production apparently makes the larger figures viable at a price that's closer to a normal skirmish game than a collector's showcase. Wargamer has pegged it as its top Kickstarter board game to watch in 2026.

Start organising for freeTabletop Titans is a known quantity: regular Kings of War, Trench Crusade, and One Page Rules coverage means the team has a good read on what a skirmish player actually wants on the table. The no-dice design puts Wyldwood closer to Unmatched or Summoner Wars than to classical wargames, which should widen the appeal beyond the usual painter-strategist crowd.
The campaign lands in August. If you run a skirmish night and fancy getting a few friends to split a pledge, find a gaming group near you on Backseat Gamer.
