Hasbro Cyberattack Drags Into Week Three as Earnings Loom

Three weeks into a cyberattack, Hasbro's order system is still limping along on manual processes, and gamers waiting on product are feeling the pinch. Retailers have reported slower fulfilment, and anyone who placed a preorder through Hasbro's network may be waiting longer than expected.

Hasbro disclosed the breach to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on 1 April after detecting unauthorised access on 28 March. Systems were taken offline, parts of the website went dark, and the company warned recovery could take "several weeks." Three weeks on, that timeline appears optimistic.

The company's portfolio spans Magic: The Gathering, Dungeons & Dragons, Monopoly, and dozens of other titles. It remains unclear whether the breach has disrupted specific product pipelines, including the upcoming Ravenloft: The Horrors Within preorders or Magic: The Gathering releases. Hasbro has not publicly addressed which product lines are affected, and communication to retailers has been minimal.

Perhaps most concerning for anyone who has bought directly from Hasbro: the company has not disclosed whether customer data was compromised. Security analysts have noted the extended recovery timeline suggests attackers established persistent access across multiple systems, which typically indicates a more serious breach.

Hasbro is due to report Q1 earnings on 23 April, which may shed more light on the operational impact. Until then, if you are waiting on a Hasbro order, patience may be the only option.
