If you have ever fancied a knife-fight in a toxic, vertical city where everything is rusting and everyone is armed, Necromunda is getting a new edition built to pull you in. Games Workshop revealed the refresh at its Big Summer Preview on 26 June 2026, kicking off with a brand-new core set and two warring gangs.

See how it worksNecromunda is the studio's underhive gang skirmish game, where you build a crew, fight scrappy turf wars and grow your fighters across a campaign. The new box pits the Escher Blades of the Matriarch against the Goliath Forge Smelters, each an eight-model plastic gang. The Escher lean hard into their house style with feathers, pelts, bold hairstyles and heels sharp enough to count as weapons, while the Goliaths are slabs of muscle in plate armour swinging repurposed foundry tools. Games Workshop says the core rules are "quicker, more streamlined, and more balanced", with campaign play tweaked for flexibility and the dice reworked so every roll matters. The box also packs a double-sided playmat, dice, a ruler, templates, markers, cards and Zone Mortalis terrain to fight over.
Beyond the starter, six Underhive Crew boxes are on the way for the Escher, Goliath, Orlock, Van Saar, Cawdor and Delaque houses, alongside new Gang Books to replace the old rulebooks. Games Workshop has not pinned a release date yet, saying only that more will follow closer to launch. If you want a campaign group for the underhive, find a crew near you.
