Blood Bowl, Games Workshop's gloriously violent fantasy-football game, just got the version your lunch break has been waiting for. At its Big Summer Preview on 26 June 2026, the studio revealed Blood Bowl Sevens, a faster seven-a-side format built for quick games at the club, plus a few new big guys to flatten the opposition.

Start organising for freeSevens drops each team to seven players on a specially sized pitch, with the rules landing in the Spike! Journal. Games Workshop calls it "faster, and every bit as brutal as its big brother", and aims it at lunchtime leagues or quick play at your gaming club. The headline model is Morg 'n' Thorg, billed as the most iconic Star Player in Blood Bowl history, finally cast in plastic with three uniform options covering his stints with the Reikland Reavers, the Gouged Eye and the Chaos All-Stars. Joining him are a new plastic Minotaur for Chaos teams, packing Unchannelled Fury and Frenzy, and a Rat Ogre for Skaven and Underworld sides with Movement 6, Strength 5 and Mighty Blow.
The shorter format is the interesting part for groups. A seven-a-side match you can wrap up over a lunch hour makes it far easier to run an ongoing league without anyone blocking out a whole evening. Release timing is still under wraps, with Games Workshop promising news soon on when the transfer window opens and the Sevens season kicks off. Fancy starting a league of your own?
