Free RPG Day falls today, Saturday 27 June 2026, and among the freebies your local shop is handing out is a brand-new one-shot for one of the biggest tabletop RPGs going: Brandon Sanderson's Cosmere RPG. The adventure, Law and Obligation, comes from publisher Brotherwise Games and pulls together elements of The Stormlight Archive and Mistborn as a way into Sanderson's sprawling fantasy universe.

Its 2024 Kickstarter pulled in over $14.7 million from more than 52,000 backers, making it the most-funded tabletop game in Kickstarter history at the time, ahead of even Frosthaven. Published by Brotherwise Games with Sanderson's own Dragonsteel, it is built on familiar d20 foundations and lets groups tell character-driven stories across Roshar, the storm-battered world of the Stormlight books, and the ash-choked cities of Mistborn. Law and Obligation is designed as a self-contained taster, so nobody at the table needs to have read a page of Sanderson to play.
