If you haven't pulled Twilight Struggle off the shelf in a while, GMT Games has a reason to dust it off. The Twilight Struggle 20th Anniversary Hall of Fame Edition is now open for pre-order on the P500, marking two decades since Ananda Gupta and Jason Matthews' two-player Cold War card-driven classic landed.

You also get the Kickstarter Promo Packs, promo cards from foreign-language editions, and a background booklet with retrospective essays from the designers.
The anniversary nod is well-earned. Twilight Struggle held the top spot on BoardGameGeek from December 2010 to January 2016, five straight years at number one. No other game has managed that run. It swept the 2006 Golden Geek Awards for Best 2-Player Game and Best Wargame, and in January 2025 it was inducted into BoardGameGeek's Hall of Fame. GAMA added it to their own Hall of Fame at Origins 2024.

Start organising for freeFor existing owners, the Red Sun Rising scenario and the updated map art might be enough to justify a double-dip. For anyone who's heard about Twilight Struggle for years but never taken the plunge, this is an attractive new entry point. Either way, it's a handsome way to mark a game that shaped modern card-driven wargaming.
