Paizo's Pathfinder Quest Heads to Backers This Spring

Paizo is finally letting Pathfinder out of the GM screen. Pathfinder Quest, the first Pathfinder-branded board game since the Pathfinder Adventure Card Game went out of print, is heading to backers this spring, and it's pitched squarely at players who love Pathfinder 2e but can't get a group together for a full campaign.

Pathfinder Quest is a cooperative card-driven adventure for 1 to 4 players with no Game Master and no endless prep. Build your character the old-fashioned Pathfinder way by picking ancestry, class, and ability cards, or dive in with a pre-built iconic hero like Valeros the fighter or Merisiel the rogue. Choices ripple across a 12-adventure campaign, each session running roughly two hours.

The BackerKit campaign raised $916,118 from 3,772 backers against a $75,000 goal, landing Paizo squarely in crowdfunding territory usually reserved for Kickstarter heavy-hitters. The game comes in Standard and Deluxe editions, with the Deluxe only available via BackerKit and a small retailer tier, so FLGS ordering is going to be selective.

Fulfilment is scheduled for spring 2026, which means backers should start receiving copies in the coming weeks. Late pledges are still open for anyone who missed the campaign, though the Deluxe remains a crowdfunding exclusive. If you've been looking for a way to run a Pathfinder-flavoured adventure without wrangling four friends, eight hours, and three months of session zero, this one is worth a look.
