The undead legions of Khemri are on the march again. At its Big Summer Warhammer Preview on 26 June, Games Workshop confirmed a fresh wave of Tomb Kings releases for Warhammer: The Old World, with the eternal god-king Settra leading a full-scale invasion into the Border Princes and the lands to the south.

Find events near youFor anyone who came to the hobby through Age of Sigmar, The Old World is Games Workshop's wargame set in the era that came before it, a grittier low-fantasy world of rank-and-file regiments. The Tomb Kings are its skeletal Egyptian-themed army, and they have been waiting a long while for reinforcements. Two new plastic kits lead the charge. Royal Heralds, built with interchangeable arms, can serve as Battle Standard Bearers or Tomb Princes, on foot or mounted on barded skeletal steeds. Liche Priests, available mounted or on foot with four head options, are the spellcasters whose magic, in Games Workshop's words, holds the whole force together.
The reveal also brought two new Arcane Journals for The Old World. The one Tomb Kings players will want is War of Settra's Fury, a 48-page book detailing the god-king's offensive, with rules for character mounts, Mortuary Cult incantations and armies including Dwarfen Slayers and the Border Princes. The second, Dawn of the Storm Dragon, looks elsewhere entirely, to Grand Cathay, where the storm dragon Miao Ying answers a fresh Chaos threat and introduces a new Jade Fleet faction blending Cathayan and Westerland forces.

The Old World is at its best across a club table rather than solo, so if you fancy lining up against Settra's hordes, track down a local wargaming group and get some games in.
