Starfinder Tales from the Vast Drops 4 Sci-Fi One-Shots

If your space crew burned out two campaigns ago and you want something you can actually finish, Paizo's new Starfinder 2nd Edition release might be the answer. Starfinder Adventure: Tales from the Vast Adventure Anthology hit hardcover on 6 May 2026, and bundles four standalone adventures designed to be played individually or strung together as a campaign from levels 1 through 9. PDF subscribers got it on 20 April, but the physical book is now landing on Paizo's release calendar and at UK shops via Asmodee distribution.

The 146-page anthology drops your party into the most chaotic stretch of the Starfinder galaxy, a remote and largely uncharted region where Drift beacons are scarce and most worlds have never been mapped. The four adventures cover a magically warped pristine planet, a haunted deep-space supply depot, a vault hidden inside a false moon home to a wonderfully out-of-touch community, and an imperial invasion you have to push back against on a frontier world. Two GMs in the same group could pick a different one each Friday and never share a setting.

This is the format D&D fans have been clamouring for, and the same pattern Wizards is leaning into with Quests from the Infinite Staircase. Anthology releases solve the biggest tabletop problem in the galaxy, the campaign that fizzles in session four when half the table can't make it. Each adventure is a complete arc with its own villain, location, and resolution, so dropping in a guest player or skipping a week doesn't break anything. Chapters slot neatly into existing campaigns when you need a one-shot for guest GM night.

Stop juggling Meetup, WhatsApp, and spreadsheets. One platform for your gaming group's events, RSVPs, and member management.

See how it works

If your group has been meaning to give Starfinder 2E a go since Galactic Ancestries dropped earlier this year, this is the easiest on-ramp Paizo has put out. Round up the table and find a gaming group near you if your usual crew is between campaigns.
