A new superhero RPG is heading to Gamefound later this year, and it's bringing serious comics pedigree along with it. Brazilian publisher D20 Culture has announced Justice League Unlimited, a tabletop roleplaying game set in the DC Universe with Mark Waid signed on as creative consultant. Waid is the writer behind Kingdom Come, JLA: Year One and a celebrated eight-year run on The Flash, so this isn't a licensed cash-in.

Start organising for freeThe setting takes its cue from the Absolute Power comic arc, with an expanded Justice League operating from the Watchtower satellite and welcoming heroes from across the globe. Players can step into the boots of icons like Batman, Wonder Woman or Superman, or build their own characters and run alongside the big names. That second option opens it up nicely for groups who'd rather invent a no-name vigilante saving Bludhaven while Superman handles the off-world stuff.
The system is a brand new design built around the d20 but pulling in the d6, d8 and d12 as well. Character progression runs on Ascension Points (PAX) used to customise six attributes (Potency, Accuracy, Agility, Resistance, Spirit and Mind) plus powers, knowledge and traits. There's a free Quickstart up on DriveThruRPG right now, including character creation rules and an introductory scenario called Lines of Defense, which sees the team defend Metropolis against Cyborg Superman.

They're the publisher behind Foes of Middle-earth, which funded on Kickstarter in under ten minutes, and they hold a partnership with Warner Bros Discovery covering Lord of the Rings, DC, Mortal Kombat and more. The full Justice League Unlimited Gamefound campaign goes live later in 2026, with a sign-up page already collecting interest.
If you've been waiting for a superhero RPG that lets you play DC's heaviest hitters with one of their actual writers in the room, this one's worth a look. Round up your group and see who'll run it for the rest of you.
