Parks Europe Brings the Hit Hiking Game to Europe

If Parks has ever sent you daydreaming about a weekend in the wilderness, Keymaster Games has good news. The beloved hiking game is packing its rucksack and heading across the Atlantic. Parks Europe is live on Kickstarter now, a standalone entry that swaps the American backcountry of the 2019 original for the mountains, forests and coastlines of Europe.

Designer Henry Audubon is back at the helm. His first Parks, published by Keymaster in 2019 with art from the Fifty-Nine Parks Print Series, quietly became one of the hobby's favourite gateway games, the kind you can teach a non-gamer in five minutes and still happily play on your hundredth outing. You guide a pair of hikers along a trail across the seasons, gathering resources to take photos and visit gorgeous national parks along the way.

Parks Europe keeps that gentle, pick-up-and-play heart and adds a few fresh wrinkles. The big new idea is the Via Ferrata, the mountain routes strung with cables and ladders that let you hook onto the trail and reach spots you otherwise could not, at the cost of picking up fatigue as you climb. There are also new systems for taking photos, backing Conservation Projects and collecting sets of Park Cards, all played out over three rounds.

Stop juggling Meetup, WhatsApp, and spreadsheets. One platform for your gaming group's events, RSVPs, and member management.

See how it works

As the name suggests, this one leans European, so here's hoping a few British favourites make the cut alongside the alpine giants. The campaign is running now, with a retail release pencilled in for September 2026.

It is a lovely one to bring to a mixed group, easy enough for newcomers and pretty enough to win them over. If it has you itching to get the gang round a table, find a game night near you on Backseat Gamer.
