Wizards of the Coast is not bothering with a booth this year. For Gen Con 2026, the Dungeons & Dragons team has rented an entire historic Indianapolis theatre and rebranded it the "D&D Tower", a six-storey playground of actual plays, panels and, yes, a drone show.

Set up your group for freeThe venue is the Indiana Repertory Theatre and the neighbouring Indiana Rooftop Ballroom, running across the four days of Gen Con from 30 July to 2 August. Wizards is filling it with 85 bookable sessions spread over 20 to 30 separate events, including live actual plays, nine panels featuring familiar names like Matt Mercer and Jasmine Bhullar, and a first look at unreleased content from the upcoming book Arcana Unleashed: Deadfall.
The headline act is the D&D Vision Keynote 2027, which promises to unveil the future of Dungeons & Dragons. It runs on Thursday 30 July at 6pm Eastern, which is 11pm here in the UK, led by franchise head Dan Ayoub and hosted by Baldur's Gate 3 actor Theo Solomon, who plays Wyll. If you cannot make Indianapolis, it streams live on the official D&D YouTube channel, so a late night with a cup of tea will do the job.

Find events near youNobody outside Wizards knows exactly what lands, but the rumour mill points to a 2027 roadmap, a new Greyhawk book from Luke Gygax and long-hoped-for word on a Dark Sun revival. Whatever gets announced, renting a whole tower is a statement of intent from the biggest name in the hobby.
And if all this stirs up the itch to gather a party of your own, you can round up players for a D&D night closer to home.
