If you have sunk hundreds of hours into digging, building and boss-fighting in Terraria, there is now a tabletop version heading to your door. Terraria: The Board Game, a co-operative adventure for 1-4 players from Nottingham studio Paper Fort Games, wrapped up one of the biggest UK crowdfunding runs of the year and is shipping now.

Set up your group for freeThe Kickstarter pulled in £1,631,776 from 15,234 backers against a modest £19,850 goal, and it hit that target in under ten minutes. That works out at 8,220% funded. Not bad for a four-person team adapting a sandbox video game that has sold more than 58 million copies. This is not the studio's first dig, either; Paper Fort first turned Terraria into a crowdfunding hit back in 2024. The board game keeps the spirit of the original: you dig, fight, explore and build your way across biome tiles, fending off zombies, slimes and worse, with simple deckbuilding at its heart and everyone playing on the same side against the world.
That co-operative structure makes it an easy pick for game night, where nobody gets knocked out and the whole table shares the wins. Paper Fort is now selling three versions direct from its store: the Gold Edition at £99.99, the chunkier Hellstone Edition at £149.99, and a World Playmat at £44.99. If digging your way out of a collapsing cavern with three friends sounds like your kind of evening, it might be time to round up a group and book a game night.
