Good news if you have spent years watching Mechs vs Minions sell for silly money online. Riot Games and Incredible Dream (the studio behind Kinfire) have revealed a cheaper way back into the League of Legends co-op game, shown off at Shut Up & Sit Down's Board Games Direct. Alongside a deluxe reprint at around £159 ($199.99), there is now a Bandle City Edition at roughly £59 ($74.99), the same price the game launched at back in 2016.

Start organising for freeIf you missed it the first time, Mechs vs Minions is a cooperative programming game for two to four players where you pilot Yordle mechs (Corki, Heimerdinger, Tristana and Ziggs), slotting together command cards to blast through a ten-mission campaign while waves of minions gum up your carefully laid plans. It has sat in BoardGameGeek's Top 100 since launch, but it went out of print around 2020 and has been hard to find ever since, which is why second-hand copies have long changed hands for two or three times the original price.
The Bandle City Edition keeps the gameplay identical but trims the cost by swapping the pre-painted mechs for acrylic standees and the hundred minion miniatures for cardboard tokens, all in a smaller box. You also get ten new solo puzzle challenges and skin cards to reskin your mechs, so even people who own the original have a reason to look. The pricier deluxe reprint is the full miniatures experience for collectors.
