Invincible Gets an Official Tabletop RPG From Free League

Invincible, the bloody and brilliant superhero comic from Robert Kirkman, Cory Walker and Ryan Ottley, is getting an official tabletop roleplaying game, and Swedish studio Free League is the one bringing it to the table. Pre-orders are open now, with the books launching on 30 July at Gen Con.

If you have watched the Prime Video adaptation or read the comics, you know the hook: Mark Grayson is an ordinary teenager until he comes into world-bending powers, then discovers that being a superhero is far messier and more dangerous than he ever imagined. Invincible: Superhero Roleplaying drops 2 to 5 players (ages 16 and up) into that world to create their own heroes, juggle everyday relationships and survive the kind of brutal, high-stakes fights the series is famous for.

Under the hood it runs on Free League's Year Zero Engine, the d6-based system behind its acclaimed Alien and Mutant: Year Zero games, here retuned for grounded, visceral super-brawls. Free League has built a reputation for turning big licences into genuinely good games rather than quick cash-ins, which is why this one landed on so many most-anticipated lists for 2026.

The launch is built around Gen Con. If you are heading to the show, you can book a two-hour scenario called Superhero Season, and even non-players can pick up printed booklets at the Free League booth. Pre-orders cover both the Core Rulebook and a newcomer-friendly Starter Set.

Fancy assembling your own team and seeing how long they last? Round up your group and find a game night near you.
