Trick-taking games and backstabbing politics sound like a natural fit, and Resurrection Games is leaning into that with Game of Thrones: Masters of Intrigue, a licensed card game revealed at GAMA Expo 2026. The game is heading to retail later this year at $24.95.
Players represent Westeros's Great Houses, including the Starks, Lannisters, and Targaryens. Each round, you play tricks to claim influence, but your hidden agenda means you might actually want to lose certain tricks or ensure a specific rival wins them. Alliances shift naturally because helping someone this round might be the only way to block a bigger threat next round. Games run 15-25 minutes for 3-5 players.
Trick-taking has been having a real moment in the hobby. Cat in the Box, The Crew, and Fox in the Forest have all shown that the genre has far more range than its traditional reputation suggests. Layering Game of Thrones intrigue on top of that framework is a clever move for groups that enjoy a bit of table talk and betrayal between heavier games.
No exact release date beyond 2026 has been confirmed, but retailers are already listing the game for pre-order.
