If you've ever tried to buy a copy of Mechs vs Minions and been met with eye-watering resale prices, your wait is almost over. Incredible Dream, the studio behind the Kinfire Chronicles series, has partnered with Riot Games to bring the cooperative board game back to print for its 10th anniversary.
Originally published by Riot Games in 2016, Mechs vs Minions is a cooperative programming game for 2-4 players set in the League of Legends universe. Players pilot mechs through a 10-mission campaign, drafting command cards to programme their actions while fending off waves of minions. The game earned widespread praise for its programming mechanics, premium components (including detailed miniatures and metal gears), and a launch price of just $75 that massively undercut its production value. It has been out of print since 2020, and secondhand copies regularly sell for well over the original price.
Incredible Dream, co-founded by Jane Chung Hoffacker (Executive Producer on season one of Riot's Emmy-winning Arcane), has earned a Dice Tower Seal of Excellence and Golden Geek nominations through the Kinfire franchise.
The 10th anniversary edition will launch globally with "product expansions to meet different player needs," though specifics on pricing, content, and presale dates are coming this summer. Sign up for updates at playmvm.gg if you want to be first in line.
