Thundergryph Games, the studio behind gorgeous euros like Tang Garden and Darwin's Journey, is opening a new chapter, and it is doing it with a game about defying the Inquisition. Galileo's Truth launches on Gamefound on 7 July, the studio's first release since Awaken Realms bought it in June.

Set up your group for freeIt is a competitive euro for 1 to 4 players in which you play scholars at the dawn of modern science. You observe the night sky, write persuasive treatises and build inventions to reshape how the world understands the heavens, blending worker placement, deck building and resource management. The theme has real bite. Pursuing knowledge can cost you your freedom, even your life, which gives the usual euro engine-building a genuinely tense backdrop rather than the standard bag of interchangeable goods.
The names attached are what euro fans will clock first. Galileo's Truth comes from Virginio Gigli and Flaminia Brasini, two of the Italian designers behind heavyweight favourites Lorenzo il Magnifico and Golem, so this is a pairing with serious pedigree in exactly this kind of points-salad strategy game. As Thundergryph's debut under Awaken Realms, it also arrives with the production muscle of one of the hobby's biggest publishers behind it, which usually means the components on the campaign page are worth a look on their own.
Stop juggling Meetup, WhatsApp, and spreadsheets. One platform for your gaming group's events, RSVPs, and member management.
See how it worksTwo well-regarded designers, a striking historical theme and a publisher swinging for the fences make Galileo's Truth one to watch when the Gamefound page goes live. If it lands with your group, it is the sort of meaty euro that rewards a dedicated evening, so line up a session on Backseat Gamer.
