Find events near youThis is Magic's second trip to Middle-earth after 2023's Lord of the Rings crossover, one of the biggest tie-ins the game has ever done. The Hobbit narrows the focus to Bilbo's journey, and its crown jewel is Smaug the Magnificent, the set's gleaming gold headliner card, with only around 500 copies in existence tucked into Collector Boosters. Two Scene Boxes, Crack the Plates and Treasures of Smaug, recreate set-piece moments from the story, right down to Bilbo's nerve-shredding chat with the dragon atop his hoard.
The product spread is the usual modern Magic sprawl: Play and Collector Boosters, Bundles, the two Scene Boxes and beginner-friendly Welcome Decks, so there is a way in whether you are a Commander veteran or someone the film trilogy is only now tempting to the table. Cards carry Dragon Hoard frames, Dwarvish script and seasonal Shire basic lands that shift through the year.
