The grimdark trench terrain that made Dark Fantastic Mills' last campaign smash 4,800% of its goal is heading back to Kickstarter, this time aimed straight at home 3D printers. The Stirling-based studio's Firebase: Horizon Station brings the sci-fi range to STL files for the first time, with a core set of 100+ models for industrial outposts, futuristic battlefields and sprawling space stations.

Start organising for freeDark Fantastic Mills has been quietly building one of the most respected modular terrain ranges in the UK hobby for over eight years. Their previous campaign, Firebase: Trench Zone, raised over £24,000 from 476 backers in November 2025, blowing past its £500 goal nearly fifty times over. That campaign delivered grimdark sci-fi trenches optimised for FDM printers, with stretch goals adding 90mm-base trench layouts and alternative design variations.
Horizon Station expands the range with what they're calling their most ambitious set yet. The models are designed to print well on home machines without sagging towers or wasted supports, which matters more than it sounds. The print-it-yourself terrain market has quietly reshaped how UK clubs build tables, especially for skirmish games like Trench Crusade and Stargrave where a fresh board can change the whole feel of a campaign night.
