Alternative Armies Drops Goblin Adventurer Party of Five

A five-strong adventuring party of goblins has just rolled out of Alternative Armies' workshop, ready to crawl the very dungeons their cousins have been guarding. The UK miniatures veterans dropped the Goblin Adventurers set on 28 April: five 28mm metal miniatures sculpted by Sam Croes, one for each of the dungeon-fantasy archetypes.

The party covers the classic spread. OH47-01 is a goblin Paladin with axe and shield, OH47-02 a Wizard with staff and spellbook, OH47-03 a Thief armed with a dagger, OH47-04 a Barbarian swinging a mace, and OH47-05 a Bard cheerfully working a lute. They slot into the existing OH Fortress Goblins range, which up to now has mostly been about defending the Swamp Fortress rather than raiding tombs beneath it.

If you're running an old-school dungeon crawl, this is the kind of niche release that opens up a different style of session. Most fantasy games assume goblins are the monsters. Letting a player run a goblin Bard who can charm the orc warlord, or a goblin Paladin with an actual code of honour, flips the usual party dynamic in fun ways. Alternative Armies sells them as singles or in a discounted OH47 value pack.
