If you grew up battling your way through The Warlock of Firetop Mountain with a pencil, an eraser and two dice, this one is for you. Fighting Fantasy Fest 6, the convention devoted to the beloved British gamebook series, returns to the University of West London in Ealing on Saturday 5 September 2026, with co-creator Sir Ian Livingstone as guest of honour.

Set up your group for freeFighting Fantasy is a genuine piece of UK gaming history. Ian Livingstone and Steve Jackson launched the series with The Warlock of Firetop Mountain, published by Puffin in 1982, and it went on to sell 20 million copies across the 80s and 90s, hooking a generation on solo dice-and-decision adventures long before video game RPGs took over.
This is the sixth fan convention, subtitled "The Convention of Firetop Mountain," and it packs in talks and panels, gaming sessions, signings and a room full of traders. A group of series authors and artists are also due to attend, and adult entry includes a collectible programme, an autograph book and a pair of event-exclusive Fighting Fantasy dice.

And if a Saturday in Ealing leaves you wanting more, the fun does not have to stop there. A local Fighting Fantasy meetup, a gamebook night or a retro RPG group is a fine way to keep rolling for luck all year round, and you can set one up and find your people.
