Dropout's first board game has already raked in more than $1.6 million from fans in 24 hours, and the original goal was $40,000. Game Changer: Home Edition, the tabletop spin-off of the cult Dropout panel show, blew through its target in under 12 hours after launching on Kickstarter in early May 2026, and is on track to become one of the biggest party game crowdfunds of the year.
Stop juggling Meetup, WhatsApp, and spreadsheets. One platform for your gaming group's events, RSVPs, and member management.
See how it worksFor anyone who has not fallen down the Dropout rabbit hole, Game Changer is the comedy panel show hosted by Dropout CEO Sam Reich where the rules change every round and contestants almost never know what game they are actually playing. The Home Edition translates three of the show's signature bits into something your group can play at the kitchen table. There is a Codenames-style word association game where you give one-word clues, a betting party game where you guess very specific numbers (how many marshmallows fit in a hat is a real prompt), and Sam Says, a Simon Says spin where you only follow Sam's voiced commands.
Pledges start at $39 for the base box, with tiers climbing to $1,000 for a fan experience with signed components and a one-on-one call with Reich. Backers are also unlocking community-wide bonuses by completing absurd missions, including a comment thread about ferrets and photographs taken with a cardboard cutout of Reich. The Kickstarter runs through 5 June 2026, with delivery scheduled for March 2027. Dropout ships internationally, including the UK, though shipping costs are paid at the BackerKit pledge manager stage.
Run game nights? Backseat Gamer handles RSVPs, waitlists, date polling, and game voting so you can focus on playing.
Start organising for freeReich also confirmed to Variety that the team has an idea for a home version of Dimension 20, the Dungeons & Dragons actual play series headed by Brennan Lee Mulligan. No timeline yet, but it would be a much bigger swing into the RPG market.
If you want a party game your friends actually remember six months later, this is the Kickstarter to point them at. Drag the group to game night and put it through its paces.
