Mech RPG fans with a soft spot for grim sci-fi, this one ends 21 May 2026 and you have just under two weeks. Pass the Torch, a campaign module for Lancer launched by Mogrit's Ironclad Escapades on 21 April, has blasted past funding goals to 161 per cent at the time of writing, and Bell of Lost Souls flagged it on 9 May as the freshest Lancer crowdfund worth backing.

Start organising for freeThis is a properly chunky module rather than a one-shot, taking groups across three books from Licence Level 0 right up to LL12. The setting jumps a millennium past the timeline in the Lancer Core Rulebook, where a mysterious nanite swarm called the Argent Plague has wiped worlds and entire systems clean off the starmap. Union, Massif Press's preferred good-guys faction, has stumbled under the weight of the Plague and a zealous insurrection, and is being challenged by the rising power of the Annorum Empyrea. Then a planet-sized object called Beacon shows up beyond the frontier, allegedly Plague-free, and the chase is on.
Three new player frames come with the campaign, slotting alongside the existing Lancer chassis options. The pitch is grand space opera with a horror tinge, and Mogrit has been running a free demo on Itch since well before the Kickstarter to let groups try the writing before pledging. For Lancer fans who have worn out the standard core campaigns, this is the meatiest third-party module to land in months, and the kind of thing that justifies a year-long Friday-night booking.
