Discworld RPG Reaches Shops as Modiphius Grows the Line

If you missed the Kickstarter for the official Discworld roleplaying game, Modiphius is bringing it to shops. A retail edition of Discworld: Adventures in Ankh-Morpork, the tabletop RPG set in Terry Pratchett's beloved comic-fantasy world, is arriving at local game stores, and it opens a much bigger Discworld line for 2026.

The crowdfunding run was no small thing. The RPG raised over £2.4m on Kickstarter, and the retail release is aimed squarely at players who want in without hunting down a late pledge. The store edition comes as a digest-sized core rulebook plus a starter set containing a previously unpublished adventure, and both are exclusive to friendly local game shops rather than the big online retailers, a nice nod to the stores that keep the hobby ticking.

Adventures in Ankh-Morpork drops players into Pratchett's sprawling, chaotic city, the one policed by Sam Vimes and the City Watch, where the guilds scheme and nothing quite works the way it should. It leans into the humour and character of the novels rather than dungeon-by-numbers combat.

Modiphius is not stopping there. Coming later in the year is Kill Sam Vimes, a card game about hapless assassins trying to bump off the Duke of Ankh while dodging his traps. There is also Readers Digested, a Discworld reskin of Reiner Knizia's city-building game Blue Moon City, and a second RPG campaign, Adventures in Lancre and Uberwald, taking in the Witches and the vampire-haunted north.
