Twilight Sword RPG Starter Set Lands on 6 October

If you have ever wished your tabletop RPG felt more like a Saturday afternoon with a Zelda cartridge, Free League has news. Twilight Sword, the anime-styled fantasy RPG it is publishing with Italian studio Two Little Mice, now has a retail Starter Set arriving on 6 October 2026, priced at $39.99 (roughly £30), according to trade tracker ICv2.

The game wears its influences proudly. Free League pitches it as inspired by The Legend of Zelda, Final Fantasy and Ni No Kuni, plus the hand-drawn warmth of Studio Ghibli films. You play Champions setting out to bring Hope back to the land of Radia, pushing back a creeping Desperation before facing the scourge Vardas in the Fortress of Evil. It leans into exploration and heart rather than grim dungeon-crawling.

The Starter Set is built for a first night at the table. Flames Rising reports it ships in a compact, perfectly cubic box, holding the basic rules, an introductory mini-campaign, polyhedral dice, pre-generated Champions and a stack of tokens and cards. In other words, everything a group needs to roll up and start playing with no prep.

Stop juggling Meetup, WhatsApp, and spreadsheets. One platform for your gaming group's events, RSVPs, and member management.

Two Little Mice is the award-winning Italian studio behind a clutch of stylish, story-forward games, and Free League is the Swedish publisher whose stable already includes Alien, Dragonbane and Mörk Borg, so this lands in good company. The Starter Set is the easy way to test it with your group before committing to the full line. If it clicks, find players for a regular session.
