Anyone who has tried to buy the South Tigris trilogy lately knows the pain. Garphill Games' run of medium-heavy euros by Shem Phillips and S J Macdonald has been tricky to find and pricey when you do. Now Garphill has put the whole series back on Kickstarter, reprinting Wayfarers, Scholars and Inventors of the South Tigris, along with a new playmat for Scholars.

See how it worksThe trilogy is set around the Tigris during the Islamic Golden Age, and all three games lean on Garphill's signature mix of worker placement and dice placement. Wayfarers (2022) opened the series with a dice-driven map of trade and exploration; Scholars (2023) had you hiring translators and decoding ancient scrolls; Inventors (2024) turned to craft and invention. Each one is standalone, so you can start wherever you like. Every box carries artwork by Mihajlo Dimitrievski, better known as The Mico, whose bright, busy style has become Garphill's calling card across its Northgard and Tigris games.
The reprint exists for a slightly grim reason. Garphill's North American retail partner Renegade is not bringing the latest Tigris games to shops over there, with tariffs cited as the sticking point, so the New Zealand publisher is going direct to backers instead. For UK gamers that mostly means a clean shot at restocking a series that has been awkward to track down.
