It's been a decade of Warhammer Skulls, the digital festival where Games Workshop and its licensees parade upcoming video games at miniature gamers, and the 10th anniversary edition lands at 5pm BST on Thursday 21 May. If your group's Discord swings between paint nights and PC nights, this is one for the calendar.

Start organising for freeThe showcase is hosted by Alanah Pearce, the actor and writer voicing a playable Sister of Battle in Boltgun 2, broadcasting on Warhammer's Twitch and YouTube channels. Confirmed appearances include Space Marine 2, Darktide, Rogue Trader, Dark Heresy, Boltgun 2, Warhammer Survivors and Dawn of War IV. Last year's show pulled record viewership, and this anniversary edition is the biggest line-up Skulls has ever assembled.
The headline drop is Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus 2, releasing the same day on PC, Xbox Series and PlayStation 5 from Bulwark Studios. The 2018 original sits at a Metacritic 74 and built a quiet cult following with its Adeptus Mechanicus theme. The sequel revamps the Cognition system, gives every unit a unique way to generate points, and brings in the Leagues of Votann as a new enemy faction.

Set up your group for freeFor tabletop fans the Skulls crossover bonus is the merch tie-ins. Games Workshop is running giveaways for MyWarhammer account holders through 28 May, with miniatures and merch up for grabs, plus a week-long sale on Warhammer video games until the 28th. If Boltgun 2 or Mechanicus 2 reignites your group's interest in the setting, a Kill Team or Boarding Patrol learn-to-play night is the obvious next step. Find a 40K crew near you and put a date on the table.
