Marvel Champions players have a new bruiser to build around. Fantasy Flight Games has revealed Luke Cage in the Unbreakable Hero Pack, up for pre-order now and arriving in August. If your co-op group has been short on a hero who can simply stand in front of the villain and refuse to fall over, this is the one.

Set up your group for freeMarvel Champions: The Card Game is a cooperative living card game for 1 to 4 players, where each of you pilots a Marvel hero against a shared villain and the schemes ticking down to disaster. Luke Cage is built as an immovable defender. His trick is stacking up Tough status cards, the little shields that soak a hit before it touches your health, so he can wade into trouble that would flatten a flimsier hero. He arrives in the Leadership aspect, the one geared around rallying and buffing allies, so he is not just a wall: he can prop up the rest of the team while he tanks.
The pack brings Cage in with fifteen signature cards and a 40-card pre-built deck, so you can shuffle up and play him straight out of the box with no deckbuilding homework. That makes him an easy pick for a games night where someone new wants to jump in. He is one of the Defenders reaching the table in August, in the wave that follows July's Fear No Evil expansion, and UK players can grab the pack through the usual Asmodee retailers.
