Talisman Sagas: Crown of Blood, the third expansion for Talisman 5th Edition, brings Bram Stoker's Dracula to the classic fantasy adventure game. Avalon Hill announced the expansion alongside two other Gen Con titles, with Crown of Blood arriving at retail on 15 June for $19.99 (around 16 quid).

Set up your group for freeThe expansion gives you three new characters, including vampire hunters Mina Harker and Professor Van Helsing, plus a board overlay that transforms the Crown of Command space into Dracula's Castle. Your goal is to race across the board, reach the Castle, and stake the Count before he overruns the land. An alternative play mode lets one player take control of Dracula instead.
The box includes four miniature figures, 30 Spell and Adventure cards, a Dracula reference card, and the board overlay. New Ongoing Event cards add persistent challenges that shift the game's tone towards gothic horror while keeping the familiar Talisman loop of exploring, fighting, and powering up your character.

The 5th Edition streamlined the notoriously sprawling play time and added scenario objectives, winning over players who'd bounced off earlier versions. Previous expansions Fate Beckons (the first co-op Talisman) and Call of the Hunt (a one-vs-many Nemesis mode) each added new ways to play. Crown of Blood goes further still, layering gothic horror over the familiar formula.
At 16 quid with four miniatures and a board overlay, it's a lot of Dracula for the money.
