Chip Theory Games has launched a Gamefound campaign for three new 20 Strong decks set in Awaken Realms' most popular universes. If you've ever wanted to face a Nemesis intruder, explore the dark forests of Tainted Grail, or drift through the surreal dreamscapes of Etherfields on your own, this is your chance.
Run game nights? Backseat Gamer handles RSVPs, waitlists, date polling, and game voting so you can focus on playing.
Start organising for free20 Strong is Chip Theory's modular solo adventure system built around a set of 20 dice. Each deck introduces its own rules, objectives and challenges, but they all share the same core dice pool. It's a clever system that keeps things fresh without requiring a massive shelf commitment. The studio behind Too Many Bones and Cloudspire has built a reputation for premium components and deep solo experiences, and this collaboration plays to those strengths.
The Nemesis deck puts you aboard a ship crawling with alien threats, echoing the tense survival horror of the original board game (rated 8.3 on BGG with over 40,000 ratings). Tainted Grail leans into Arthurian dark fantasy, while Etherfields sends you into abstract, dream-logic territory. Each deck runs about 20 to 30 minutes, making them ideal for a quick solo session on a weeknight or between bigger games at a meetup.
Got a regular group? Create a private community, poll for the best date, vote on games, and let your friends RSVP in one place.
Set up your group for freeThe campaign has raised over EUR 600,000 from nearly 6,500 backers with two weeks still to go. Pledge tiers start at EUR 25 for a single deck and EUR 69 for the full set of three. Existing 20 Strong owners can grab just the new decks, while newcomers can pick up a starter set that includes the core dice and components.
If solo gaming is your thing, or you've been curious about any of these Awaken Realms franchises but don't have the table space (or play group) for the full-sized versions, 20 Strong offers a compact way in.
