Free League is celebrating a decade of Davokar by rebuilding it from the ground up. The Symbaroum 10th Anniversary Kickstarter launches on 19 May 2026, condensing the original four core books into a three-volume trilogy and bundling in a brand new campaign setting, City States of Vendilyn.

Set up your group for freeIf you have never poked your head into Symbaroum, it is the Swedish dark fantasy RPG from Free League Publishing where corrupted forests, fading empires and treasure-hungry adventurers all collide in the haunted woods of Davokar. The aesthetic is closer to a Studio Ghibli horror painting than your average D&D dungeon, and Martin Grip and Gustaf Ekelund's illustration work has earned the line a serious cult following since its English launch in 2015. Free League has since become a heavyweight in indie RPG publishing thanks to Mörk Borg, ALIEN, Blade Runner and Dragonbane.
The refreshed line will land as a three-book core trilogy: a Core Rulebook with a tutorial adventure and homebrew guidance, a Gamemaster's Guide, and a Davokar Creature Codex. Alongside the trilogy, the campaign also offers a fourth hardcover, the new City States of Vendilyn campaign setting, which drops players into a realm wrecked by the elves of Duskwood. All four are hardcover in English. Free League has form on these big anniversary refits, having pulled the same trick to great effect with Forbidden Lands and Mutant: Year Zero.
