StarCraft on your kitchen table is no longer a what-if. Archon Studio's StarCraft: Tabletop Miniatures Game is out in the wild, its first waves shipping to players, and the Polish studio is lining up a reveal of brand-new units at Wargamer Direct on Thursday 30 July.

Find events near youThe game is a fast, tactical miniatures wargame built on a straightforward six-sided-dice system, designed to capture the feel of the frantic final battle in a StarCraft match. Terran marines, Zerg swarms and Protoss zealots square off across the table with the plastic doing the talking, and Archon casts the minis at its own in-house factory to keep the sculpts sharp.
It has been building a head of steam for a while. Pre-orders opened back in March, the first pallets have since gone out to distribution hubs worldwide, and the game has pulled big crowds at conventions. Wargamer reports it shifted $100,000 of con-exclusive stock in just two days at AdeptiCon, the kind of number that tells you the demand is real.

Start organising for freeThe 30 July showcase, streamed on YouTube and sponsored by Archon, promises miniatures that have not been seen before, with silhouettes already being teased and fuller reveals rolling out in the run-up.
