Rocketeers Guide to Rocketships Lets You Print Your Fleet

If you own a 3D printer and have ever wanted to design your own spaceship fleet, The Rocketeers Guide to Rocketships is aimed squarely at you. The two-player space-battle game from Madan M Mitra of Mitra Miniatures turned up at UK Games Expo 2026, and both the rules and a starter set of ships are free to grab right now.

It is a fast, low-crunch tactical skirmish game with a 1950s "Bright Deco" look, all chrome fins and pulpy serial-era menace, pitting forces like the Earth Rocketship Force against the villainous Emperor ZOM. Each player fields six to eight rocketships, and the focus is on manoeuvre and cinematic dogfights rather than heavy rules. The core rulebook is a free, print-friendly PDF, and Mitra is giving away a selection of 3D-printable STL files, including Class 3 Destroyers, free on Cults3D, so you can read the game and start printing before spending anything.

For the maker crowd that is close to an ideal pitch: near-zero entry cost if you already own a printer, or a cheap commercial print run if you do not. The full range is bigger than the freebies, spanning 18 factions from the vampiric ZOM to the avian Eaglemen, and it is funding now on a live Kickstarter.

Mitra ran demos all weekend at the NEC. If your group has a resident printer enthusiast, point them at the free rules and let them build a fleet.
