If you have ever defeated a king with nothing but a handful of playing cards and some clever teamwork, good news: the team behind Regicide has two new standalone games, and the Kickstarter campaign wraps up this week.
Stop juggling Meetup, WhatsApp, and spreadsheets. One platform for your gaming group's events, RSVPs, and member management.
See how it worksRegicide Inferno and Regicide: Crown Duels come from Badgers from Mars, the New Zealand studio founded by designers Paul Abrahams, Luke Badger, and Andy Richdale. The original Regicide (BGG 7.4) turned a standard deck of playing cards into one of the sharpest cooperative experiences in the hobby. It is the kind of game you can teach in two minutes and lose in ten, and it has been a staple of game nights since its 2020 release.
Regicide Inferno adds a fifth suit to the deck, Flames, introducing new card powers, tougher enemies, and mini-boss encounters that raise the stakes. Crown Duels goes in the opposite direction, turning Regicide into a competitive two-player game of swords and sorcery. Both games feature the illustrated card art that gave the original its distinctive look.
Run game nights? Backseat Gamer handles RSVPs, waitlists, date polling, and game voting so you can focus on playing.
Start organising for freeThe campaign has cleared NZ$200,000 from over 1,800 backers, smashing its NZ$15,000 goal many times over. If you have been meaning to back this one, the campaign closes on 15 April.
Both games pack a lot of play into a small box, and Regicide has always been the sort of game that works best with a regular group. Find yours on Backseat Gamer.
