The team behind one of the most acclaimed two-player wargames of recent years is heading back to Kickstarter, and this time the battlefield is a single stubborn county in the American Civil War. Rebels Against Rebellion is a card-driven game for one or two players from designers David Thompson and Trevor Benjamin, published by Flying Pig Games.

Thompson and Benjamin created Undaunted: Normandy, the best-selling World War II deck-builder that turned card-driven combat into a mainstream hobby hit. Rebels Against Rebellion carries that DNA into a very different setting: Scott County, Tennessee, the corner of the state that stayed loyal to the Union and cheekily declared itself the "Free and Independent State of Scott" after Tennessee seceded.
One player takes the Confederacy, the other the county's loyalist citizens. Each turn you play cards to move into contested territory, attack strongholds, gather resources and recruit fresh support, all while reshaping your own deck. Whoever spreads their control furthest across the map wins. Artwork comes from Kwanchai Moriya, whose bold, painterly style has graced dozens of hobby favourites.
