If you've ever felt your fighter was the most boring sheet at the table, EN Publishing's Russ "Morrus" Morrissey wants a word. He's lining up a Kickstarter for Steel & Skill: The Complete Fighter's Field Guide, a 120-page softcover that aims to do for the 2024 fighter what AD&D 2nd Edition's Complete books did for an earlier generation. One class, every option a player could realistically want, all in one place.

Set up your group for freeSteel & Skill is built squarely for the 2024 Player's Handbook and pulls together around 50 new subclasses, more than 20 new feats, fresh equipment, fighting styles, magic items, and the fighter class reprinted so you're not flipping between books mid-session. Morrus has also promised roleplaying seeds and character hooks, the sort of stuff that's gone missing from the modern PHB style. The book is pencilled in for a 6 October 2026 release, with the Kickstarter pre-launch page already collecting interested DMs and players.
This is the first volume in a planned class-by-class series, taking obvious inspiration from Mongoose's old Quintessential line. It's also a useful signal of where third-party D&D is heading after the 2024 rules reset, with EN Publishing already responsible for Level Up: Advanced 5E. Wizards of the Coast's own class books are still thin on the ground, so expect more handbooks like this to start landing.
