Trench Crusade's mud-and-blood aesthetic is notoriously tricky to nail at the painting table, which is why the Army Painter's growing collaboration with the indie wargame matters. The Crusade Se7ens, seven-paint themed sets tailored to each faction, started with the Prussian Stosstruppen mix of muddy browns, drab greens and dark metallics. Now Heretic Naval Raiders and Pilgrims of the Sacred Affliction sets have been confirmed as the next two faction packs, with more on the way.

Start organising for freeEach Crusade Se7ens box pulls colours from the John Blanche Masterclass and Warpaints Historical ranges, the same lines Army Painter has been pushing for historical and Old World hobbyists. For Trench Crusade specifically that's a good fit, since the game leans heavily on a turn-of-the-century, World War One-meets-hellscape palette that traditional fantasy paint sets just don't cover.
The timing's no accident. Trench Crusade also just dropped a lore preview for the Drowned Chorister, a new Chorister variant haunting the Heretic Naval Raiders' Carrion Coast, and the Carcass Front plastic starter is pushing the Naval Raiders towards full retail soon. A dedicated paint set landing alongside the warband's biggest plastic push to date is a properly slick rollout from Factory Fortress.
