See how it worksThe set originally dropped on 30 January with new Mega Evolution Pokémon ex and a new rarity class called Mega attack rares, splashy cards with Japanese katakana attack names that echo the Pokémon-EX style of the old XY series. April's three Mega ex boxes each ship with a playable foil promo of one starter, an oversize lenticular card with dynamic artwork, and four Ascended Heroes booster packs. The Booster Bundle stuffs in six packs of the set with extra chances at the illustration rare and special illustration rare pulls that have driven singles prices all spring, including Mega Froslass ex and trainer cards like Erika's Pokémon and Larry's Pokémon.
If you mostly play online, Pokémon TCG Live's 21 April update is landing three days before the retail drop, with a rebuilt deck editor and fixes to long-running card selection bugs that have frustrated ladder players since January.

Set up your group for freeMega Evolution has been the theme connecting the 2026 expansions to the Pokémon Legends: Z-A video game. For anyone running a local league or playing kitchen-table with the kids, the Mega ex boxes at a standard price point are the cleanest on-ramp: one playable Pokémon, four packs, and a promo card that actually looks the part.
Time to rally the group. See what TCG meetups are on near you and bring a starter deck.
