Ravensburger has pulled back the curtain on the art direction for Disney Lorcana's twelfth set, Wilds Unknown, and it might be the best-looking set yet. Lorcana, Disney's trading card game that has built a dedicated following since its 2023 launch, is leaning hard into art direction with this one.

See how it worksThe new Enchanted cards (the game's chase rares) feature what Ravensburger is calling "Lore Nouveau," an Art Nouveau-inspired illustration style that channels the sense of exploration and discovery woven through the set's story. The illustrations are lush and hand-painted, a clear step away from the digital art feel of earlier sets. The style also appears on the two Iconic cards: Merida, Formidable Archer and Buzz Lightyear, Jungle Ranger, both of which get full-art treatments with additional foil.
Wilds Unknown also marks a first for Lorcana: dedicated Prerelease Boxes. Previous sets used standard booster packs at prerelease events, but this time each box includes six booster packs, one of six random promo cards, dice, and a biome postcard. Prerelease events run from 8 May at local game stores and select Disney locations, with the set available everywhere from 15 May.

Find events near youThe set brings Pixar characters to Lorcana for the first time, with glimmers from Toy Story, Brave, and The Incredibles appearing across three new in-game locations: the Wilderknot, the Great Empty Sea, and Torchlight Peaks. For players keeping track of what comes next, Attack of the Vine! arrives in July with Monsters, Inc. characters, and a Coco-themed set heads to a new metropolis called Hyperia City in Q4 2026.
If you are planning to attend a prerelease, check with your local game store for event times and availability. These events tend to sell out quickly, and the new Prerelease Boxes will be exclusive to in-store events.
