Heroscape's first big wave of 2026 has just dropped, and it has sailed straight into pirate territory. Renegade Game Studios released the four-pack Thormun's Thunder collection this week, headlined by Thormun & Kraken, a flagship set that includes a dedicated 2-3 player Boss Battle Scenario with Kraken-summoning mechanics. For the uninitiated, Heroscape is the hex-based skirmish miniatures game with interlocking terrain tiles, and league players across the UK now have a fresh stack of figures to fight over.

Start organising for freeThe wave bundles four army packs: Thormun & Kraken, the Skordyre Soldiers (insect troops with hives that spit acid and evade attacks), the Revenants of Revna and Nuckelavee (undead heroes that grow stronger with each wound via a "Withering Breath" ability) and the Upgraded Necrotech Reavers (six figures with interchangeable arms that swap between Ghoulgrip lockdowns, Ghastblade multi-target swings and Geistfire ranged strikes). Thormun's own "Ragtag Armada" lets him take extra turns with diverse heroes, while his Swashbuckler trick hits harder on the second blow.
This is the latest move in the Heroscape revival that began when Renegade picked up the Hasbro licence in 2023, after a failed 2022 HasLab crowdfunder. Hasbro had shelved the original line in 2010. Wave 1's Age of Annihilation master set, alongside the Battle for the Wellspring battle box and the Grove at Laur's Edge terrain set, hit shelves in August 2024 and brought organised play to over 500 game stores worldwide.
