One of the sharpest, most gleefully stressful party games ever made is finally getting a proper North American home. Maestro Media has partnered with German publisher Zoch Verlag to release Ghost Blitz across North America from January 2027, complete with new box artwork made for the region.

Find events near youIf you have never played it, Ghost Blitz is a reaction game that turns a table into a scramble. Five little wooden objects sit in the middle: a white ghost, a blue book, a red chair, a green bottle and a grey mouse. Flip a card and you either grab the object shown in its correct colour, or, if nothing on the card matches, grab the one object that is not pictured at all. Your brain knows the answer. Your hand keeps lunging for the wrong thing. It plays in about 20 minutes and works with players from around eight upwards, which makes it a brilliant filler and a genuine family leveller.
Designed by Luxembourg's Jacques Zeimet and first published in 2010, the game landed on the Spiel des Jahres recommendation list in 2011 and has since sold more than a million copies in over 20 languages, according to Maestro Media. Despite that pedigree it has never had a strong, consistent North American release, which is exactly the gap this deal fills.
