Game Therapy UK is taking over The Comedy Store in Leicester Square on Tuesday 28 April 2026 for its fifth annual all-star comedy fundraiser, and the line-up is a proper one. Mark Thomas (Have I Got News For You), Cally Beaton (Live at the Apollo, QI), Nick Helm (8 Out of 10 Cats), Shazia Mirza, Matt Richardson and Steve Best have all donated their time, with Gary Colman hosting. Doors open at 7pm and the show runs until 11pm. Tickets are £10 to £20 depending on whether you qualify for the student, senior, NHS or financial hardship rates, and you can book directly through the charity.

Find events near youThe cause is worth knowing about. Registered as a charity in 2023, Game Therapy UK runs three project strands that put tabletop and video games to work as therapeutic tools: a Camden-based programme for people experiencing homelessness, a youth initiative funded by GamesAid, and TAG (Tactical Advance to Game), an online RPG club for serving military and veterans. The work picked up the Ian Livingstone Innovation in Games Award in 2023, and the charity hosted the UK's first academic conference on therapeutic gaming at UCL on 24 April 2026.
Every penny from the night funds volunteer-led projects that put dice and minis in front of people who would not otherwise have access. The charity also runs paid training in therapeutic gaming for facilitators, which is a useful resource for anyone running clubs or sessions for vulnerable players.
Run game nights? Backseat Gamer handles RSVPs, waitlists, date polling, and game voting so you can focus on playing.
