Lorcana Co-Op Hunny Rescue Brings Pooh to the Table

Disney Lorcana is getting its first cooperative board game experience, set in the Hundred Acre Wood. Illumineer's Quest: The Great Hunny Rescue launches on 3 October at $59.99 (previous Illumineer's Quest boxes have retailed around £49.99 in the UK), letting one to two players team up as Winnie the Pooh and friends to battle through the Vine and rescue Piglet.

See how it works

The game is the third entry in Ravensburger's Illumineer's Quest line, which packages curated decks and a narrative challenge into an all-in-one box. Unlike standard Lorcana, there is no deckbuilding required. You open the box, follow the story, and play. Four difficulty levels keep things interesting after your first run, and experienced players can bring their own constructed decks to push the challenge further.

The Great Hunny Rescue connects to the Attack of the Vine! set releasing in July, sharing the same Vine antagonist. The co-op game lets players experience that narrative from a different angle. Winnie the Pooh characters have appeared in earlier Lorcana sets, but this is the first time they have been the focus of a standalone product.

For anyone who has wanted to introduce friends or family to Lorcana but found the competitive format intimidating, this is what Ravensburger has been building towards. No collection needed, no deckbuilding knowledge required, and the Hundred Acre Wood theme is about as welcoming as it gets.

If you run a game night and want to bring Lorcana to the table without the competitive edge, keep an eye on events near you as the October launch approaches.
