See how it worksDesigned by first-timer Roman Bednář alongside Adam Španěl, a co-designer of the hit puzzle game Project L, Drillers is a 1 to 4 player game running around 30 minutes per person. Every card is multi-use, so each turn you decide whether a card does its job or gets burned as fuel. A "Future Sight" system lets you see exactly what you are about to draw, which turns the whole thing into a puzzle of setting up combos and deciding just how deep you dare to push before a run goes wrong. Mining generates damage cards that can power your next move or clog your deck, a neat bit of press-your-luck tension baked into the engine.
It is the kind of chewy but approachable design CGE does well, aimed at the table that likes a proper think without a three-hour rulebook.
