Disney Lorcana is about to get overgrown. Attack of the Vine, the card game's thirteenth set, pits your Disney heroes against a creeping plant menace, with Sulley, Mike Wazowski and Boo from Monsters, Inc. leading the fight. If you play Lorcana, or you have been meaning to start, the prerelease weekend in mid-July is the moment to circle.

Find events near youLorcana, published by Ravensburger, is the collectible card game where you play an Illumineer summoning glimmers, card versions of Disney and Pixar characters, and race an opponent to collect lore. Attack of the Vine leans into a summer-blockbuster theme: a vine grows out of control and starts spawning vineling monsters and leafy duplicates of familiar glimmers. Sulley arrives as The New Boss, and the set also welcomes faces from Up and Turning Red.
It is shaping up to be the biggest Lorcana release yet. According to Fantasy Land News, it is the first main set to push past the usual 204 cards, landing at 207, and the products run the familiar spread of booster packs, booster displays, prerelease boxes and Illumineer's Troves.

A prerelease is one of the gentlest ways into a card game: you build a deck from sealed packs on the day, so a new player and a veteran sit down closer to even. If your local shop is running one, it is a fine excuse to round up a group and make a night of it.
