Forest Shuffle Heads to Exmoor in a New UK Expansion

Forest Shuffle, the hit card game about stacking up a thriving woodland ecosystem, is touring Britain's national parks, and Exmoor is next. Lookout's Forest Shuffle: Dartmoor - Exmoor brings 55 new cards celebrating the flora and fauna of the Devon moorland to tables this year.

If you missed it, Forest Shuffle has been one of the breakout card games of recent years. Designed by Kosch and first published by Lookout in 2023, it has you drafting trees and tucking animals, insects and plants alongside them to build the highest-scoring forest. It picked up the 2024 Deutscher Spielepreis, Germany's biggest community-voted award, which is rare company for a small-box card game.

Exmoor is an expansion rather than a standalone, and you will need last year's Forest Shuffle: Dartmoor box to play it. That set moved the series away from Europe's mixed woodland and into upland British landscapes, all wild ponies, ancient tors and protected moor. The 55 Exmoor cards slot straight in, adding new species and a fresh twist: a "rummage through the clearing" effect that lets certain cards dig through the shared clearing for free instead of being played from your hand, with the option to flip a few cards off the draw pile if nothing suits.

Like the rest of the range, it is made under Lookout's GreenLine banner, which the publisher bills as 100% eco-friendly production, a nice fit for a game about nature. It is up for pre-order through Asmodee UK and UK retailers like Zatu.

For British players, there is something charming about scoring points off your own back garden's wildlife. If Forest Shuffle is already a fixture at your table, rally the group and add a little Devon to the deck.
