If you missed the Kickstarter for Discworld: Adventures in Ankh-Morpork, your local game shop is about to sort you out. Modiphius is bringing the Terry Pratchett RPG to retail in Q2 2026, and friendly local game stores are getting an exclusive starter set that includes a brand-new adventure not available anywhere else.
The Kickstarter campaign raised over £2.3 million from thousands of backers in late 2024, smashing its £100,000 goal by more than 23 times. That level of demand made a retail release a matter of when, not if. The core rulebook lets you explore the streets of Ankh-Morpork using a lightweight system where you pick a Trait, roll against the GM's Narrativium Die, and hope for the best. It captures that signature Pratchett chaos where your greatest weapon might be a sausage-inna-bun.
Reviews have been polarised. Fans of narrative RPGs love the freeform feel, while crunchier players have found the rules too light for their taste. If you are the sort of GM who thrives on improvisation and knows your Vimes from your Vetinari, this is built for you. If you prefer detailed combat mechanics, fair warning.
Modiphius has a packed Discworld calendar for 2026 beyond the RPG. Kill Sam Vimes, a card game about Guild assassins hunting the Duke of Ankh, lands in Q3, followed by a second RPG campaign set in Lancre and Uberwald in Q4.
