If you play Dungeons & Dragons, or you have been waiting to hear what Wizards of the Coast actually has planned next, mark 30 July 2026. That evening, Wizards is holding a vision keynote at Gen Con to, in its own words, "unveil the future of Dungeons & Dragons with roadmap reveals, first looks, special guests, and surprises."

Start organising for freeThis is a shift. After a few quiet years of smaller reveals, Wizards is going big. The keynote runs Thursday 30 July at 6pm ET (11pm here in the UK) and is hosted by Theo Solomon, who voices Wyll in Baldur's Gate 3. It headlines a four-day takeover of the six-storey Indiana Repertory Theatre in Indianapolis, rebranded the "D&D Tower," with live shows, actual plays and short adventures running through to 2 August.
The keynote itself is the part to watch. Wargamer expects a 2027 content roadmap laid out as upcoming "seasons," more on Luke Gygax's new Greyhawk book, and, tantalisingly, a possible answer on whether the long-rumoured Dark Sun revival is finally happening. Dark Sun, the brutal post-apocalyptic desert setting, has sat near the top of fans' wish lists for years, so even a tease would set tongues wagging.
